We are all desperately sad and upset to let you know that our dear friend, colleague and committee member, Gareth Steventon, passed away on October 7th.

He was an enthusiastic member of our TBF committee and was part of the group’s inception in 2011. Even before the TBF was formed, Gareth was an active, and from what I am led to believe, frequently vocal contributor as a FBE committee member for many years.

We were all hoping to see him a few days before he passed away, when we ventured to The Journeys End, Ringmore on our annual pilgrimage. Alas, he was too poorly to join us. We did however sit and regale the various stories of Gareth’s escapades over the many years we have known him. This included the amusing conversation he had with Princess Anne when attending the opening of the new pool at Mount Kelly School, and the very last WhatsApp video he sent the committee, involving a small bird he had tamed!

Gareth was an amazing man who always had time for a chat, gossip or joke. He will be forever missed by his South West construction family and we pass on our deepest condolences to his wife Pam and their family.

RIP Gareth x

Gareth Steventon
